THE CRITIQUE Critic
farazbukhariThis is a pretty decent piece. The warm and cool tones used do make an impact on the viewer. The line-art is what I prefer. Thick and deep, enhancing the folds of Maxx. The area above the eyes specially is well done. It gives it a demonic/evil look along with the decaying teeth. And to top it off I see you made tattoos on his chest, like that pentacle and the hole on his head (is that a hole?
), to complete that effect. The only problem I see would be the shading on Maxx. The face is a bit too lighter than the rest of the body I suppose. It would've been good if you'd have given it almost the same shade as the top of the head. I rarely see the oval frame these days but it somewhat adds to the menacing attitude of the character which I liked. All in all this was a very good concept.

foharazaInteresting concept.
Where the color is concerned; the blue background really works out with the orange color of Maxx. As far as line art is considered, it is brilliant. However, the lines are maybe at some point a bit too dark and heavy? However, the fact that lines so casually spread across the painting gives a certain character to Maxx. And definitely, it is intriguing to identify numerous symbols and signs on the body also.
But more importantly it is exciting to see an artist use the concept of a frame with dark corners and an oval window to reveal the character. Maxx seems to peer into your soul. Excellent!

salekaliContrasting colors are always a good way to make things stand out, good job on that. The lighting is off, the light on the cheeks(?) is different to the light on the head and the rest of the body. The thickness variation of the lines is very abrupt at times, a smoother transition could have improved the impact.
The symbology is working really well with the character.
I like how the oval boundary and dark edges add to the composition of the piece. Well done.

nrazaBrilliant piece of work! from the eyes that are replaced by the cheeks to the wrinkles on his head. The creature design is unique. Maxx seems to be posing for a camera! (somehow i can imagine this going on his identification card
) the rough blue strokes in the background not only texture the overall image but they also add to the character of Maxx. Like staring at him too long will cause the world to deform around you solely because of the horror he will instill in you. The flow of lines is incredible! the overall effect is impressive!
